People First of Alabama is a group of people with developmental disabilities living in Alabama communities dedicated to making their dreams happen by having choices and control over their lives. This means having opportunities to make decisions for themselves instead of having others make decisions for them.
Wings Across Alabama
Wings Across Alabama is the largest Mental Health Consumer-Run Organization in Alabama. Wings is a “for us, by us” organization that deeply believes in healing that comes through shared experience. Wings offers peer support through an array of direct services.
Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered (SABE)
Self-Advocacy Resource and Technical Assistance Center (SARTAC) is a resource center run by SABE whose mission is to strengthen the self-advocacy movement by supporting self-advocacy organizations to grow in diversity and leadership.
The Autistic Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN)
The Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy equal access, rights, and opportunities.
